Post-Wise Eligibility Criteria – NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee Recruitment 2025
1. ST/SA – Diploma Holders
- Candidates must have a Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering with at least 60% marks, recognized by the Government of India or the Ministry of Education. The diploma program must be of three years duration after SSC or HSC.
- Alternatively, candidates who have completed a two-year Diploma via Lateral Entry after HSC, approved by AICTE, with a minimum of 60% marks in the relevant branch (Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics) are also eligible.

2. ST/SA – Science Graduates
- Applicants should hold a B.Sc. degree with a minimum of 60% marks. The degree must include Physics as the principal subject and any one of the following as subsidiary subjects: Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Electronics, or Computer Science.
- Alternatively, a combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with equal weightage is acceptable.
- Mathematics at the 10+2 (HSC) level is mandatory.
- Candidates who have pursued Mathematics as the main subject in B.Sc. are not eligible.
- English must be studied at least at the SSC or HSC level.
3. ST/TN (Category-II) – Maintainer
- Candidates must have passed SSC (Class 10) with at least 50% marks in both Science and Mathematics separately.
- They must also possess a 2-year ITI certificate in a relevant trade such as Electrician, Fitter, Electronics, Instrumentation, Machinist, Turner, or Welder.
- For trades with an ITI duration of less than 2 years, a minimum of one year of relevant work experience post-completion is required.
- English should have been one of the subjects studied at the SSC level.
4. ST/TM (Category-II) – Plant Operator
- Applicants must have passed HSC (10+2) or ISC with Science subjects.
- A minimum of 50% marks in both Science and Mathematics individually is required.
- Candidates must have studied English up to SSC level.
5. Assistant Grade-1 (All Disciplines)
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution with at least 50% aggregate marks is essential.

- 1st Year of Training: Stipend of ₹24,000 per month
- 2nd Year of Training: Stipend of ₹26,000 per month

After successfully completing the training period, candidates are likely to be appointed to the post of Scientific Assistant/B (Group-B) in Level 6 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC, with a basic pay of ₹35,400.
